Elevate comes to Sandy Park

A new and exciting touch rugby event will take place at Sandy Park on Saturday, June 3, as the final event of 1314, Jack Nowell and Henry Slade’s Testimonial Year.
A day of high-octane action on the pitch will be followed by an epic after party, headlined by BRIT Award nominated, platinum selling producer 220 KID.
Spearheaded by Red Bull, Elevate involves eight invitational teams comprising international men’s and women’s pro players, celebrities, and amateurs compete for the inaugural title.
The tournament will be the final chance to see Jack Nowell play at Sandy Park before he leaves Exeter later this year, as he and Henry Slade will each captain a team – the Red Bull Rebels and Dexcom Warriors respectively.
Exeter full-back Josh Hodge will lead out a Chiefs side and Ollie Leatherbarrow an Exeter University squad, while the London Liners will be skippered by former Chief Dave Lewis, UR7s by England 7s legend Tom Mitchell and Cinco de Moyo by Content Creator, Your Boy Moyo.
International rugby players including Freddie Steward, Max Evans, Thom Evans, and Dan Bibby will also run out, alongside familiar faces from both the Exeter Chiefs men’s and women’s teams, Olympic Gold Medallist Maddie Hinch, surfer Laura Crane, and SAS Who Dares Wins Jason Fox.
Elevate is seven-a-side touch rugby with a difference, aiming to reward progressive and exciting play. If an attacking player makes a mistake which causes a turnover, they are exiled from the game until the next try is scored. Additionally, the try area is divided into sections – the closer to the posts that a try is scored, the more points are awarded and, if non-rugby players score, points are doubled.
This exciting format promises to keep everyone entertained with Red Bull bringing their high energy ethos to every aspect of the event.
