Students get a taste for kitchen life

DSCN0626 web.jpgStudents from the Michael Caines Academy at Exeter College were given some hands-on catering experience on Friday, when they paid a visit to the Sandy Park kitchen.

Following a tour of the impressive venue, the group were set the task of plating up over 800 desserts ready for the Exeter Chiefs match the next day.

Head Chef at Sandy Park, Denis Turner, guided them through the process of plating the food – explaining the importance of presentation of food, plus the taste and textures in the meal.

Each member of the team added different elements to the dish and the group worked throughout the afternoon to help the Sandy Park staff prepare for match day.
